CDC COVID-19 Safety Plan Fall 2020-2021
All teachers and staff members will receive safety training as it relates to preventing community spread of COVID-19.
Staff members are temperature checked before their shift and will be wearing face coverings until further notice.
Parents are asked not to send their children to class if they, or a member of their household, have a fever or respiratory symptoms.
Parents are asked not to send their children to class if they, or a member of their household, have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Our front door will be used for entrances only.
The extra studio on the first first floor will be used for transition of classes.
All arrivals will be greeted by a staff member and temperature checks will be taken before students enter the building.
Our staff will direct students to a sanitation station and help them find their scheduled class.
We ask that parents drop off students to comply with social distancing in the building.
Parents of little dancers (under age 6) may accompany their child into the building, but can only remain if necessary for child comfort.
Please limit parent drop off to one person whenever possible. Sibling visitors cannot be accommodated during this term.
Frequent Hand Hygiene
Employees will wash hands and/or sanitize before and after each class.
Hand sanitizing stations will be available inside and outside entrances of classrooms. Students will be encouraged to wash hands and/or sanitize before and after class.
Hand-washing posters are posted within bathrooms and classrooms.
Enhanced Cleaning Procedures
We have increased our cleaning frequency and sanitation procedures of high traffic areas and surfaces such as doors, barres, floors, counters, stereos, and bathrooms.
Minimized Mixing and Mingling
We have made facility, scheduling, and curricular changes to reduce mixing and mingling in support of social distancing reccomendations at all times. However, we understand that unlike older children and adults, young children cannot be expected to maintain social distancing at all times.
Bathroom use – we encourage all students to use the restroom at home before coming to class. Bathrooms will be available for toilet use only, not for changing clothes. Dancers should come dressed for class.
Facility & Curricular Adjustments
Hallway waiting areas will be closed to parents.
Buying water bottles will not be available. Please bring your own clearly labeled water bottles.
Dancers will bring dance bags into the studio for changing of dance shoes. Street shoes must be removed before entering the classroom.
No food will be allowed in the studio.
Street shoes are not allowed in studio classrooms. Hip Hop students must have an indoor only pair of sneakers or purchase a Hip Hop dance sneaker.
Curricular adjustments have been made to eliminate prop use, hand-holding and to reduce mingling in the classroom.
Class sizes have been modified to reflect current county recommendations for social distancing.
Classrooms will refrain from high fives, “ballerina hugs”, fist bumps, stickers, and stamps.
Classrooms will have staggered dismissal (10 minutes) to allow for student transitions between classes.
Parents will be asked to wait outside for kids to be released. A staff member will be outside to ensure your dancer gets back to you safely. At the end of class, parents must be by the exit doors to receive their child. Students cannot walk across the parking lot to go to their parents for safety reasons
Face coverings are required for all adults entering the studio and all students 3 years old and up. We understand that the wearing of a face covering for students and teachers is an adjustment and not ideal. As protocols change and safety guidelines are modified we hope to release this requirement but for now it is prudent to do so.
